Summer Reception

IAESTE Macedonia is a synonym for the best organized Summer Reception for more than 10 years. Our organization is rewarded with this epithet because of its hard-working and enthusiastic members. Most of the students that come in Macedonia, heard the name of this country for the first time when they applied for the internship with IAESTE, but they leave from here with tones of amazing and unforgettable memories. The weekends and the evening hours are the favorite part of the trainees and of the Macedonian members throughout the whole summer.

Every Monday weekly regular meetings are held where the new-comes introduce themselves on front of the others and the plan with activities for the upcoming week is announced by the coordinators. Every two weeks there are two coordinators from the Macedonian members who organize different social, cultural or sport activities during the week after the working hours. They also organize the weekends according to previously determined schedule. Every year the plan of weekend during the Summer Reception is discussed and stated during the Seminar of Training and Motivation of New Members in May.

Saturday mornings are reserved for conquering some new destination in Macedonia like Ohrid, Bitola and Heraklea, Pelister, Dojran, Strumica and Smolarski Waterfalls, Kriva Palanka and the Monastery Joakim Osogovski, Prilep during the Beer-fest, Solunska Glava, as well as some places near Skopje such as Matka, Vodno or Katlanovo. The weekend in Ohrid during the national holiday Ilinden and the weekend in Galichnik during the Galichnik Wedding, when the trainees are getting to know one of the most interesting customs and traditions in our country are the most favorite ones.

Another event that also remains forever in their memories is the International Evening that is organized in the middle of the Summer Reception when here are the most of the trainees. The trainees present the country they come from with traditional meals, drinks, music and dances and the Macedonian members present Macedonia. Every IAESTE summer is special, unique and unforgettable experience that stays forever in each of our hearts.
