International Events
Annual Conference (AC)
The Annual Conference is the most important international IAESTE event that is held
once in a year, in the middle of January. Representatives of 82 countries members
of IAESTE take part of this event in order to exchange the work offers. The offers
are exchanged one for one. For every placement that one national committee has to
offer, one placement from some other national committee is given in return. How
well the delegates are prepared, form administrational and communicational point
of view, is extremely important. They need to know the offers that they are exchanging,
as well as the wish-lists and the requests of the members of the national committee.
This is the key to have successful exchange sessions and to get placements that
will satisfy the requests of the members.
On this conference there are also work sessions where the delegates discuss matters
regarding the work and administrating in IAESTE, changes in the statute or in the
regulation rules, as well as voting for new members in the international board.
Besides the formal part, there is so-called informal part which consists of different
evening activities: international evening, gala dinner, presenting of the host-country
and many parties with old and new IAESTE friends from all around the world.
Seminar on IAESET Development (SID)
It can be concluded from the name itself that the aim of this event is to discuss
about the way how IAESTE functions, the future arrangements, to define the priorities
in the work and to focus on the development of the organization on national and
international level. This seminar gathers at one place the board members of the
national committees of all countries members of IAESTE. The most important things
that are emphasized during the working groups are the strategic development of IAESTE
at global level, the administration of the organization, the development of the
collaboration with the Club of IAESTE Friends, marketing etc.
The experience from the SID is very valuable and important for the further development
of each national committee. After the official part of the seminar, a post-seminar
tour is organized round the host-country. This is a perfect way to socialize with
the rest of the participants from all over the world and to meet friends for lifetime.
Macedonia was a hosting country of this event in 2003.
Join Us to Motivate People (JUMP)
Join Us to Motivate People (JUMP) is the official "Motivation and Training Seminar"
of IAESTE. JUMP was founded in 1995 in Vienna, Austria on the initiative of Martin
Klaus, former member of IAESTE Austria. Primarily new members of IAESTE meet in
a different European city each year during four days in September or October for
training sessions and discussion groups. This training and motivation seminar is
mainly focused on workshops dealing with various IAESTE tasks and personal skills.
An important component is cultural exchange with corporate tours, cultural events
and tours and social events incorporating local cuisine and customs.
Macedonia was a hosting country of this event in 1998.
EX - Regional Conference
EX is a regional conference where the countries from former Yugoslavia take part
of. It takes place at the beginning of May. These countries, besides the geographic
closeness, share many other common things like similar mentality, languages, similar
economy situation, similar problems and lat but not least, similar challenges in
leading IAESTE. At the conference we discuss about improving the collaboration among
the national committees, promoting the whole region in order to become more attractive
for the students from the rest of the world. We arrange international weekend during
the Summer Reception while there are trainees so that they can join together, every
weekend in different Ex-Yu country. The days during the conference are always fulfilled
with enjoyable moments, parties and making new friends.
TWIN Seminar
Every year IAESTE Macedonia organizes cultural exchange with a local committee from
some other country. This always results in better exchange of offers the following
year and many happy faces. The TWIN seminar consists of two parts. Firstly a group
of 20 students from the foreign local committee comes in Macedonia for 5-7 days.
During their stay we are trying to introduce them our way of living, our culture,
customs and tradition, we visit the most famous places in the country. During the
working groups we are presenting the way IAESTE Macedonia functions and we are exchanging
experiences and advices. Among all of these activities, the international evening,
the parties and the numerous enjoyable moments spent together stay forever in our
memories. The second part is when a group of students from IAESTE Macedonia go in
the foreign country. Now the hosts prepare the same activities for our students.
So far IAESTE Macedonia has organized TWIN seminars with the national committees
Norway, Denmark, Finland, Austria, Poland and Italy. We hope that in the future
we will have more successful seminars like the previous years.
Central European Convention (CEC)
The Central European Convention is less official event in comparison with AC and
SID. It is a convention that is held twice a year, in May and in October. The CEC
founding counties that can also be hosts of the event are Austria, Croatia, Czech
Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. There are also guests countries like Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia, Montenegro, Germany, Latvia, Norway,
Switzerland and Greece that are invited to participate to this event with limited
number of delegates. The purpose of CEC is to improve the overall connection and
co-operation of its member countries. This includes open transparence information
exchange with focus on local business and university activities for exploration
of students’ benefits.
CEC is a great opportunity to establish new contacts and to strengthen the old ones
with the members of the IAESTE family. The biggest benefit is the presence at the
working groups where lot of different experiencesabout the work of other national
committees can be heard. In this way the participants discuss about implementing
new ideas in order to improve the work of IAESTE. Like every international event,
the CEC is also enriched with short excursions round the host-country, international
evening, presenting each of the countries through art-performace, songs and plays,
and many unforgettable moments.
